Student of the Month – Connie Czaplicki

Connie is a piano student at Deluca Music Academy with instructor Jillian Gallagher. We asked Connie to answer some questions about herself.  Here is what she shared with us:
1. What do you like most about your lessons? It is a diversion from work.  I played flute and saxophone from 4th grade through high school so I enjoy learning the piano-something new!
2. Who is your favorite band/artist? Pearl Jam, Rolling Stones, Mumford and Sons
3. What is your favorite food? Asian food- Thai, Chinese, Indian
4. What is your goal for the year?  To learn a variety of music.  I would like to complete one well known classical piece and one popular piece.

DMA Spring Recital/Picture Day

Deluca Music Academy’s Spring Recita​​​​​​​l will be held on Sunday May 21st at the Bucks-Mont Unitarian Universalist Hall in Warrington at 2040 Street Rd. at 4:30pm. If you would like to perform please ask your teacher so he or she can prepare you and get you signed up.  It is a free recital and all are welcome.  DMA picture day will be held the same day and location.  We will have a professional photographer take your picture.  This service is free but you must sign up for it to reserve your time.  Call the store or stop at the front desk to sign up. 215-674-1401.

Pet of the Month:

Haley, Zoe, Ben and puppy Darcy love hanging out together on their deck! All are sweet and loving St. Bernards who will slobber you with kisses!

Flute student Schuyler Brennan wins 3 Jazz Soloist Awards.

Schuyler is an 8th grade student at Upper Moreland Middle School.  She has been in the Jazz band since 6th grade.  This year she was a featured soloist in four of the Jazz Band competitions and walked away with the Soloist award in 3 of them!  Great job Schuyler!

When asked where she came up with the ideas she used in the improvisation portion of her featured solo she said “I got some of my ideas from what was going on in the rhythm section”.  Wow! A soloist that actually listens to the rhythm section!

One other note… The band director, Mr. Brian Stahl, also studied with Mark Henkels at Deluca Music Academy…We’re very proud of him too…
